Unity trail bridge gets major upgrade
A 33' snowmobile trail bridge on the CLRSR system received a major upgrade on September 26th, 2026, when 16 volunteers shrugged off the forecast of a New England nor'easter and put their collective skills together redecking & widening a fairly worn-out part of the system. In less than 6 hours, the crew completed the momentous task of tearing out the old wear-bars, unbolting & removing the 4x6 decking, cutting away iron side rails, laying new decking & wear-bars, and topping it off with new side rails.
Initially expecting the rework job to extend into Sunday, the tremendous turnout got the job done in less than a day. Every volunteer found work to do, be it cutting brush back at the bridge ends, lugging lumber, cutting metal or wood, pairing up washers to screws, and even retrieving dropped tools & screws in the river, in an effort to speed up the projects' completion. In spite of the rain that started in the 5th hour of work, the crew persisted without notice or complaint in regard to the ensuing downpour, one even receiving laughs when commenting "Let's get it done before the rain starts".
The bridge, affectionately known as George's Bridge, is located on trail P390. George Butterworth, who passed away in 2024, was an avid snowmobiler, active member of the club, and a good friend to everyone he met. His involvement and support will always be missed by everyone who know him.
A special thanks goes out to everyone that put their backs into this project, and all who supported it behind the scenes, especially the planners, equipment providers, and the NH Bureau of Trails for awarding the grant money that made this task possible.

Welcome on board Terry! The New Hampshire Snowmobile Association is pleased to announce Terry Callum as Executive Director. He will be responsible for executive leadership, communications, representation and administration. He will officially start September 2, replacing Dan Gould, who is retiring after holding the position since 2017.

Crescent Lake Regional Sno-Riders add two trail Kiosks for riders.
The CLRSR club announced the installation of two trail Kiosks has been completed. These kiosks will help riders better navigate the trail system by highlighting trails with signage. One can be found at Larry's Hut, the other is at George's Hut.

Crescent Lake Regional Sno-Riders add a new Groomer to its fleet!
The CLRSR club announced the purchase of a 2000 Tucker 1000 Terra from the Wolfeboro Snowmobile Club. A new drag is on order, and it should be here before the winter. The Tucker was purchased with club funds and the drag will have funding assistance from the state. This acquisition will put 2 tuckers in the Crescent Lake woods.

Congratulations to CLRSR President
Terry Callum; Iron dog Brigade Inductee.
The Iron Dog Brigade is truly an honorary society. Of the 110 current members, 40 living members and 15 deceased members have been inducted into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame housed at the World Snowmobile Headquarters in Eagle Rivers. Many others have been inducted into their state Halls of Fame.
